A note about the background. This is a map of the region of Virginia, now West Virginia, that I live in. It is scanned from the 1787 map of Virginia that accompanies "The Official Records of Robert Dinwiddie, Lieutenant-Governor of the Colony of Virginia, 1751-1758".
