Future Business Leaders of America
Future Business Leaders of America is a vocational student education association which helps members bridge the gap between the classroom and the business world by giving them an opportunity to learn first-hand about the business.
Initial membership is open to students, grades 7 through 12, enrolled in business or business-related fields who accept the purpose of FBLA, subscribe to its creed, demonstrate willingness to contribute to meaningful school-community relations and possess qualities for employment.
East Hardy's FBLA members participated in a fundraiser called Suzanne's Best to order fund club activities.
On November 19, 1998, the FBLA went to the Federal Reserve Bank in Richmond, VA. This was interesting and exciting. Members learned about saving and protection of our nation's currency.
Each year the FBLA finds a needy family who needs a boost over the holidays and creates and delivers a basket full of goodies. The giving of the Thanksgiving Basket made members of FBLA feel good and brought a tiny piece of joy into the lives of the family.
For our winter activity, the FBLA is planning a volleyball and pizza party. This is always a time to have fun and relax.
The state FBLA competitions are being held March 12 and 13 in Charleston, WV. There are many different fields of competitions.
We end the year with a parent/member banquet where we award success and commend each person for his/her effort throughout the year.
