Although the remaining Hepler's are, in fact, direct relatives of Johann Christoph Hepler, the connection to John Hepler our ancestor is speculative.  At this time there is no conclusive proof that Johann Christoph is John's father; however, he did have a son born after his death named Johann Henrich.  There are no records beyond his birth regarding Johann Henrich.  Stating the obvious, anglicized Johann Henrich translates to John Henry.  There are some records that refer to a John Henry Hepler living in Virginia and born in Pennsylvania around the same time.  In the interest of genealogical research, I have included this family in our family tree until such time as the parents of our John Hepler (12) can be identified.  Hopefully someone who reads this may have further information, if so, please contact me at the email address below.
